World Restart A Heart Day 2025
On October 16, it was World Restart a Heart Day. At the main entrance of Radboudumc, we represented the DETECT project by highlighting the importance of rapid bystander resuscitation. After all, the sooner you start, the greater the chance of survival in the event of a cardiac arrest. With the help of a VR headset, visitors were able to experience for themselves what it is like to perform CPR. It was an impressive and educational experience! In addition, we shared information about the DETECT study, in which we investigate how technology can help to detect cardiac arrest more quickly and initiate resuscitation sooner.

Research during the Nijmegen 4Days Marches
This week, 25 walkers are wearing a wristband for the DETECT study during the Nijmegen Four Days Marches. With this research, we aim to further improve our algorithm for automatic cardiac arrest detection.
By collecting data during prolonged physical activity, we are making the algorithm more robust, enabling it to better recognise real cardiac arrests in the future and reduce false positives.
Wishing all walkers the best of luck and lots of enjoyment!
