At the 2023 European Resuscitation Congress, PhD candidate Roos Edgar won the Young Investigator Award with her presentation on the abstract below (Automated cardiac arrest detection based on wrist-derived PPG signals: preliminary results of the DETECT-1 study in patients with induced circulatory arrests). She presented the results of the development of the cardiac arrest detection algorithm based on photoplethysmography (PPG). The underlying data were collected from patients in whom cardiac arrest was induced as a standard practice during cardiac surgery.
